The Position:

We are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join our Banking Solutions team. This position is an essential role for customer delight.

Our Production Support Engineers will work with complex technical issues and help break them down into clear, business friendly summaries to enable ideal communication between Bottomline’s technical teams and our customers.

In addition to being an application expert, and facilitating issue resolution for our customers, this role is expected to implement and configure changes on both of our products. The Support Engineer is expected to display a high level of integrity, excellent communication skills and the ability to commit themselves to continuous improvement. This individual is expected to contribute to technical discussions and assist in building tools and processes that allow the team to be more productive.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a customer point of contact for any product or technical issues their customers, or they, may be experiencing. Areas of expertise typically required are: database and network connectivity, file transfer methods, and advanced questions and configurations relating to any of our products
  • Configurations and triage issues
  • Serve as a mentor for support professionals
  • Participate in cross-team collaboration daily
  • Contribute to our internal Wiki
  • Contribute to and assist in others in following our training materials
  • Meet support and maintenance deadlines
  • Assist with new product introductions and training
  • Exhibit a sense of ownership for all assigned tasks and cases

Requirements:

  • A background in technical support, development, project management, communication and customer service
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • An understanding of both scripting and object-oriented programming languages
  • Relational database knowledge, including a proficiency with SQL
  • A strong customer service and communication background, including business writing

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in related field or equivalent, is preferred
