The Production Supervisor – Modern Acoustic & Specialty Brands will work with the Modern Acoustic and Specialty Brand teams ensure achievement of production output, quality, and cost targets, as well as capacity planning and inventory accuracy while maintaining a safe work environment. 

About the Job:

  • Directs activities to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality, delivery, and safety requirements
  • Reviews and establishes material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements
  • Develops and establishes departmental standards and practices
  • Coordinates production activities with other functions such as materials, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, inspection and the like
  • Responsibility to Audit/verify proper PPEs are being utilized
  • Ownership and response to safety issues
  • Actively communicate safety updates, policies, and weekly tool-box topics
  • Conduct Performance Evaluations, coach and mentor direct reports
  • Responsible for leading Dept. meetings
  • Daily 6S audit – communicate needed corrective actions to team members
  • Daily 6S checklist (verifies team completes tasks)
  • Other responsibilities include production-related activities such as material planning/control, manufacturing, engineering, facilities maintenance, etc.

What You Need:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar experience
  • Progressively responsible and complex production management experience
  • Requires advanced experience and knowledge of production operations and activities
  • Working Knowledge of TPS / Lean Manufacturing practices. (A3, VSM, 5S, Kaizen Activities, Poke-Yoke, SMED, etc.) Experienced in Continuous Improvement and strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated management skills including: structured work, training and coaching, and teamwork approach. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage conflicts
  • Ability to solve problems using the scientific method (PDCA, A3, etc) and coach others to solve problems
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, strong Microsoft Office skills, understanding of ERP systems and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong understanding of Shop Floor Operational Systems, Management for Daily Improvement, RCCA (Lead and Drive) Manufacturing processes on a Lean Environment and able to use/lead and challenge Advance Quality Tools and machinery in a woodworking environment is preferred
  • Experienced in Continuous Improvement and strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills including: structured work, training & coaching and teamwork approach
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage conflicts
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems using advanced quality tools / RCCA tools and coach others to solve problems
  • Ability to manage assigned budget by accounts
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
  • Degree in Engineering or related experience, as well as certification in Lean Manufacturing is preferred
