Agilent is seeking an operations manager who believes people are a business's most valuable asset and who likes working in a fast-growing production environment for our Sacramento, CA Manufacturing and Development Center of Excellence. The right candidate will be a high energy, experienced, employee focused production manager and will manage in our GC Columns production operation. Working with the world's leading GC Column manufacturing team and develop, responsibilities will include development and execution of functional business plans, people development plans, and supporting continual improvement and LEAN manufacturing initiatives to meet the short- and long- term goals of the GC Columns production operation.
Day to day the operations manager will directly manage a team of individual contributors as well as supervisors responsible for planning and manufacturing our high quality high technology gas phase separation products. In addition to meeting manufacturing objectives, the team will be responsible for collaborating with engineering and chemistry teams to develop and drive the implementation of continual improvement projects, capacity expansion, and next generation manufacturing technologies.. Objectives include meeting and exceeding financial, quality, delivery, product yield, scrap and defects on arrival for the operation, and ensure your teams' engagement and development for future manufacturing growth.
The right candidate may also be responsible for related areas such as production kitting, shipping/receiving and packaging, and collaborating with a global team of manufacturing managers and teams from other Agilent sites on cross-site Industry 4.0 manufacturing initiatives, shaping the future of manufacturing in Agilent.
Bachelors or Masters Degree or University Degree in business, operations management, project management or equivalent plus 5 or more years relevant experience as a manager and or supervisor.
Strong track record of people management, employee development, leadership by example, and strategy and annual plan development.
Proven skills in leading and managing the execution of processes and projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledgeable at capacity modeling, LEAN/Six Sigma, ERP and related digital manufacturing tools and systems.
Practical business acumen for smart decision making.
APICS or related certifications in supply chain management.
Training and/or direct experience with situational leadership, leadership development, planning, procurement, logistics, marketing, artificial intelligence, finance
Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry training or experience working in these types of manufacturing or development environments
