Job position: PRODUCTION CONTROL MANAGER

Reporting Line: DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN

SUMMARY

The objective of this role is to allow seamless business practices between us and our internal and external customers. Candidates must be self motivated team players with strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Candidates will perform a variety of complicated tasks relying on experience and judgment to accomplish goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Supervise Purchasing and Production Control staff -Buyers and Planners
  • Monitor vendor quality and delivery performance
  • Support manufacturing system-procurement of inventory commodities
  • Participate in MRB reviews
  • Generate, review and initial purchase orders as required
  • Negotiate inventory commodity pricing agreements
  • Coordinate document control: purchase orders, engineering change orders, and nonconforming material reports
  • Perform managerial functions such as preparing proposals and budgets, analyzing labor costs, and writing reports
  • Assist Design and Manufacturing Engineering through vendor selection and obtaining quotes
  • Coordinate planning and release of shop orders, factory loading, and shipment of customer orders
  • Ensure that all subordinates are aware of and fully trained on our Quality Policy
  • Provide performance assessments and disciplinary documentation

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess analytical ability

Computer literate with strong spreadsheet analysis skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the Purchasing and Procurement function. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; mentoring employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and maintaining harmony among employees and resolving grievances. Prepares necessary reports to analyze and track performance. Maintains good housekeeping of area and ensures safe work environment for all employees.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's Degree

· 5 to 10 supervisory experience in a high volume manufacturing environment

· Experience with Kanban systems

· Exposure and training in basic lean tools and successful implementation of these tools. Six Sigma exposure

Salary

$80K - $90K
