Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Product Strategies Group Director is responsible for leading the development, implementation and strategic oversight of the bank's Product Development and Product Management efforts across multiple business lines, client groups, technology and solution teams. Accountable for short- and long-term strategic roadmap for bank-wide solutions, managing all product strategies for respective areas of oversight. Oversees a cross-functional team of product managers, developers, strategists, pricing and data analysts. Ensures that the product management groups design, deliver and manage solutions that are marketable, competitive, and profitable.
Essential Functions
* Lead teams that reimagine all aspects of product development lifecycles across multiple product groups to include deposits, payments, wholesale, retail and international solutions.
* Oversee a team of product management professionals to uncover efficiencies to market and identify alternative growth opportunities.
* Command a clear understanding of the target market financial needs, trends, and emerging product and payment opportunities to achieve Umpqua balance sheet objectives across consumer and wholesale businesses, and meet client needs across the enterprise, allowing the bank to maintain parity with and exceed competitor offerings across the industry.
* Ability to focus an organization on the most important payments and deposit product ideas and rally teams around a cohesive product strategy.
* Work closely with multiple areas of the organization, to include TAG, the PMO, Finance, Innovation, Risk and Compliance, and all Business Lines to develop strategic initiatives, roadmap and priorities.
* Deliver business results by designing and delivering the strategy across all deposit and lending products, as well as core payments, cards, and digital and emerging payments products.
* Oversee product analytics to monitor product profitability, project balance sheet impact and to enhance product performance.
* Develop and maintain external relationships with vendors, competitors, fintech and technology providers, consultants, etc., to remain abreast of the latest industry trends and solutions.
* Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
* Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
* Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Required
* MBA Preferred
Experience
* 7-10 years of Product Group Management experience with a track record of proposition development through channel partnerships, customer insight and experience, analytics and technology teams to identify opportunities to enhance product range in line with the company deposit growth strategy across consumer and wholesale.
* 7-10 years of experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams

* Experience with customer and product lifecycle tactics to engage deposit customers by developing customized contact strategies in support of onboarding, activation, spend and usage and retention -- continuous product improvement mindset.
Licenses and Certifications
* Certification in Pragmatic Product Delivery Model Preferred
* Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) Preferred
