As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Product Specialist to join the Front End Innovation team in either Phoenix or Flagstaff, AZ. (Flagstaff, AZ location preferred.)
If you are searching for a company where you can make a difference, we’re looking for you. In this role, the Product Specialist will help champion the exploration of early-stage product opportunities as part of a small, cross-functional team.

The “Lean Startup” approach will be used by the team to reach data-driven decisions about whether the opportunities merit continued investment. Partnering with other innovators, the Product Specialist will contribute to the success of the small innovation team by rapidly identifying and understanding clinical and market needs, by developing and validating new business models, and by integrating knowledge obtained through self-education and extensive interactions with outside experts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Rapidly assessing identified opportunities in new business areas for Gore
  • Identifying unmet clinical needs to generate new product concepts and the business models that support them
  • Interacting with colleagues in a variety of disciplines, including engineering, manufacturing, biological sciences, clinical medicine, regulatory, legal, business, marketing, and sales
  • Serving as the primary interface between customers, sales and marketing associates, and leadership associates for the products you support
  • Developing and validating product and portfolio value propositions for products in the development pipeline
  • Focusing on device fitness for use – ensuring device safety and efficacy
  • Developing a business case for investment in new opportunities

Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    • A Doctoral degree (PhD) in engineering or science including at least 2 years of product development or industry collaboration/ employment experience OR
    • A BS in engineering or science plus an advanced degree in engineering, science or business PLUS at least 5 years of Product Management or new product development experience in medical device or life science industry
  • Proven experience to prioritize, plan, and drive projects to completion within target timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and successfully interact with and influence multiple internal functions (including engineers, manufacturing, sales and marketing) as well as external partners and customers
  • Successful experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex and ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
