Job Description

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Product Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing the technical requirements and specifications defined in the contract and crafting a detailed requirements traceability matrix, including exceptions and alternative solutions. You will work closely with the supplier base via technical review meetings, kick-off meetings, and inspection meetings, and with engineering and other internal partners, suppliers, and production to ensure compliance with customer requirements and code quality requirements for equipment and build records. The creation of project-specific Test Plans and Inspection and Vendor Requirements Plans will also be in your remit.
Ensuring that customer and Siemens Energy's requirements are met is vital to the success and safety of our product, onshore and offshore gas turbine or motor driven compressors, and generator packages.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Reviewing contract requirements and working with our customers to achieve them- Create Quality Plans, Requirement Matrices, Inspection, and Test Plans.
  • Working with a large supplier base ensuring that contract requirements are met- Build Vendor Quality Requirement Plan, Supplier document requirements list, review supplier procedure, review product test and inspection records, review inspector reports, and release product
  • Collaborating with the Siemens engineering and production teams to help ensure the quality of our products.
  • Working with the teams to resolve non-conformances!

What You Bring

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A high school degree or equivalency is required.
  • 5+ years experience or more as a Quality Assurance Specialist with Heavy Equipment in the Industrial, Manufacturing, or Oil and Energy industry. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • A background in working with suppliers and reviewing purchasing specifications, fabrication drawings, material test reports, and other related quality documentation within the QA space.
  • Digital literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook!
  • Knowledge of standard codes and standards such as API, ASME, AWS, etc.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related degree.
  • Experience with manufacturing, packaging, and/or design of large equipment used in the oil and gas or power generation sectors.
  • Inspection or engineering experience in the oil and gas or power generation sectors.
