Product Owner II

As part of IT Operations, ATS seeks to empower the delivery of secure, stable, and reliable solutions through software engineering and operational excellence. We partner with GRM US IT application teams to deliver services, platforms, and solutions to support existing and evolving infrastructure and technologies.

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to help realize and promote our vision. This position will enable business opportunities by representing the voice of the customer and helping to drive the modernization of our application stack as well as empowering teams to stand up new cloud capabilities with infrastructure as code solutions.

About this Role

• This role is specifically aligned to our Runtimes Unix and Service Proxy engineering teams. Runtimes Unix provides resilient and secure application server platforms/container offerings on-prem and off-prem.
• Our Service Proxy team offers load-balancing and service proxy/gateway solutions as well as tactical identify token offerings to provide interoperability between legacy and modernized application architectures.
• You will work closely with other ATS teams, GRM US architecture, and GRM US application teams to define the product roadmap for these areas.

Daily Responsibilities

• Refine & prioritize the product backlog for development teams by negotiating tradeoffs and conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer
• Work day-to-day supporting aligned squads by clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating and gaining alignment around product strategy
• Be accountable for assigned product level key performance indicators (KPI's) and manage product(s) with a low-medium degree of strategy, KPI, scope, complexity, etc.
• Participate in all ceremonies to support aligned squad's agility transformation following agile best practices, set quality standard for delivery by enforcing product definition of ready and done (user story acceptance criteria), accept each story and feature ensuring quality, and providing real-time feedback to squad
• Lead problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal customers receive prompt, efficient service
• Analyze feasibility, cost ramifications, and other aspects of planned or potential middleware upgrades, improving upon the stability of environment moving to current version of the stack
• Communicate the product strategy and product roadmap effectively to key stakeholders and team members

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

• A senior technical professional with knowledge of agile best practices, development methodologies and product management as typically acquired through a Bachelors' degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.)
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting
• Domain specific knowledge including lifecycle, Unix middleware, containers, service proxy technologies, cloud-based architecture, and application authentication / authorization
• Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders at various levels in the organization
• Complex problem solver with ability to lead solution and progress
• Effectively communicate complex ideas, issues, risks, benefits, impact of change and value to audiences at various levels in the organization
• Ability to make difficult decisions quickly daily with limited supervision, competing priorities, and varying degrees of urgency
• Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty.
