The Product Manager is responsible for leading and driving the strategy, performance, analytics and management of an assigned segment of Miller Heiman Group’s product portfolio. The Product Manager will manage the product strategy, from planning, design and development to implementation and meeting revenue goals for the product portfolio. The Product Manager will partner closely with sales and marketing leaders to collaborate on the portfolio’s architecture and associated go-to-market strategy and to enable the client teams to effectively represent and sell the product to clients globally.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall success of a family of solutions
  • Set strategy and direction, build business cases for resource investment, define the product roadmap and development priorities, set the go-to-market approach, in support of revenue and gross margin goals. Manage the process of bringing new releases and new solutions to market according to schedule
  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of leaders across the organization to lead the product strategy and deployment
  • Work with the development team (internal and external resources) to define specific product release requirements, write user stories, and manage the product backlog
  • Work with the marketing team to define the go-to-market strategy, prioritize activities, and ensure our product positioning properly reflects the features and benefits of the solution to the target buyers and influencers
  • Work with the Services and Support teams to ensure our delivery approach provides maximum time to value for clients and supports client success and retention
  • Work with the Finance and Legal teams to ensure pricing policies and contracts are appropriate and effective
  • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for the solution, working directly with the saleschannel, partners, and key customers. You will be a visible leader in the client community and be a frequent speaker at user group meetings and otherevents
  • Analyze client and financialdata including revenue and profitability of solutions and market segments, market share, and projected growth
  • Conduct market landscape analysis to assess the ecosystem of offerings, competitive solutions, how well they meet client requirements, and identify white space and business opportunities including potential partners
  • Conduct market research to assess requirements for new solutions. Lead market surveys and focus groups including the design, creation, administration, and capturing and summarizing results to make recommendations for the direction for the business


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Product Marketing or Product Management, preferably in a technology business
  • Experience leading a team or cross functional projects with strong Project Management experience; PMP certification a plus
  • Understanding and experience with Agile product development practices highly desirable
  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Natural evangelist and strong customer advocate
  • High level of business acumen and experience building business cases including quantitative models for revenue and costs
  • Strong accountability and project management for tasks without close supervision
  • Ability to build excellent rapport with peers and leaders across the organization
  • Strong data analytical skills and experience developing and using tools to analyze large data sets to drive decisions
  • Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a strong strategic vision, and the leadership skills and day-to-day drive to make that vision a reality
  • Must enjoy spending time in the market with clients and prospects to understand their challenges, and find innovative solutions that can be commercialized to benefit the entire client community
  • Ability to travel, estimated at 25%
