Summary:

This position is to manage networking adapter product line. The Product Manager has responsibilities to manage the networking adapters from product concept, to design, sample production, testing, forecast, cost, mass production, promotion, support, and finally product EOL. On top of that, the PM will work with system department to integrate networking adapters into server systems for a complete system solution as well as accessories that are required for networking adapters such as cables, transceivers, switches, etc. This position requires minimum BS degree in ElectricalEngineering or Computer Science with knowledge in networking products. Experience in product or project management is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • A member of the Networking Adapter team, manages products through the entire life cycle from product concept to product EOL
  • Development of new technology overview, product positioning statement, sales training materials, feature & function benefit summaries, FAQs, etc.
  • Coordination of operational activities associated with the introduction of a new product worldwide, and Factory Product Readiness
  • Represents worldwide Operations from a product perspective
  • Facilitates plans and strategies based on product plans and road-map
  • Drives quality improvements by eliminating sources of defects in the design, new product introduction, and manufacturing processes
  • Utilizes metrics to improve new product introduction process and product quality at launch
  • Ensures Operations achieves Ready to Ship Release and transitions into production/sustaining
  • Creates product specifications and positioning documents, conduct tactical competitive analysis, and critical situation management
  • Defines requirements for product enhancements
  • Serves as third level sales support
  • Demonstrates an advanced ability to translate product technologies into customer benefits
  • Works with system department to come up with complete solutions which include networking adapters in server systems as well as accessories

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates strong organization and planning skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations and impacts to schedules
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Ability to lead extended teams and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of PC market trends and Supermicro customer needs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills), and ability to negotiate effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of networking products (a must), server systems, PC systems, computer peripherals and services is required
  • Prefer a MSEE/CS plus 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent BSEE with 8-10 years relevant professional experience
