Summary of the role

The Product Manager works within the Navitaire organization and directly with new and existing clients to identify, document, evangelize, and support the development of software products and services for the transportation industry. This role is both strategic and operational, focusing on identifying market problems, focusing on turning problems into opportunities, developing business plans to turn opportunities into products and services, and then making sure those products and services are ready for the marketplace. At Navitaire the Product Manager also engages in long-term support of their products and the clients that use them.

Main responsibilities


Conduct industry and customer research to identify problems in the market
a. Conduct market analysis and competitor intelligence
b. Interface directly with clients to understand and document their challenges and opportunities
c. Attend industry events to understand market trends
d. Be able to correctly understand and articulate to the completive landscape and defined market

Present opportunities for new products, and enhancements to existing products
a. Look for ways to apply Navitaire’s distinctive competencies to resolving market problems
b. Be able to present and articulate new product concepts for consideration
c. Capture and document client requests for enhancements
d. Provide guidance to the organization on build, buy, or partner

Develop business plans and strategic documentation
a. Own the documentation of a product from concept to launch through the use of concept presentations, business cases, road maps, and other artefacts.
b. In coordination with the development of a business case, develop a distribution and go-to-market strategy, and product integration strategy into the Navitaire portfolio
c. Developing internal value proposition, including working on pricing, costs, and revenue models

Coordinate with the organization to deliver a go-to-market strategy
a. Manage the New Product Entry Process (NPE)
b. Work with stakeholders to complete the business case deliverables
c. Coordinate with finance, legal, commercials, development, marketing, and delivery teams on product operational and market readiness

Various other activities such as:
• Provide strategic direction on the priority of requirements for your product areas
• Support sales and marketing initiatives
• Support existing and new client implementations
• Support customer retention initiatives
• Manage a team of Business Analysts to develop business requirements
• Evangelize product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and functionality within the organization



Bachelor's Degree       
5 years in Airline Revenue Accounting
Strong understanding of airline business practices, functions, accounting
Software Development is recommended
