Brief Summary of Role
Appirio is looking for a Salesforce Product Manager who is passionate about building products for the Salesforce ecosystem. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy. Based on customer, market, and partner needs the Product Manager will identify innovative and differentiated products for Appirio to bring to market. Work closely with Product Engineering to develop the solution based on your requirements. Finally, they will ensure solutions are accurately positioned in the market (customers, prospects, partners, analysts) and with Appirio (sales, delivery). Ultimately drive pipeline bookings and revenue through successful product creation.
1. Build the right product
Maintain a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem and audiences
Define market opportunity, identify whitespace and product gaps to generate new ideas for product development
Collaborate with key customers and prospects to understand solution needs, pains & gaps to create unique value-added solutions
Closely interface with channel partner and vertical industry teams to understand competing solutions and desired differentiators
Define the Product Vision and Product Strategies and create buy-in both internally and with key external partners
2. Prioritize, Build, Evolve the Product
Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
Work closely with engineering teams to review and provide feedback on completed stories as development progresses.
Manage backlog and desired feature requests into a product roadmap
Drive product launches including working with the marketing team, executives, and other product management team members
Lead the charge to establish and optimize best-in-class product development processes
3. Product Launch and Sales Enablement
Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
Explaining products, features, and capabilities in terms that customers understand
Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
Represent the company by visiting customers and partners to solicit feedback on company products and services
Pre-sales & Sales enablement
4. GTM & Ongoing Success
Go to market strategy and marketing campaign guidance for Product Marketing
Coaching Sales, working directly with customers
Customer success tracking and feedback leading to the continuous development and future iterations of the product
Education and Required Experience
5+ years total Salesforce experience,
3+ years experience in product management for a B2B software or technology company, with a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product
Creative, high energy, innovative, proactive and resourceful. Someone who thinks on their feet is comfortable with change and enjoys problem-solving.
Must have excellent teamwork, organizational and multitasking skills.
Exceptional verbal/written communications and presentation skills, with experience presenting to and interacting with the C-suite.
Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
Experience building products on the Salesforce.com platform is preferred
Pragmatic marketing experience or certification is preferred
Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
Located and able to work in the U.S. from a home office and able to travel up to 25-50%
