The Benefitfocus Platform brings together buyers and sellers to provide peace of mind for consumers in all of their moments that matter. A key role in the Platform is the seller – typically a voluntary, L&A or specialty sellers - who offer products on our Platform. The product manager for seller enablement will be responsible for definition, roadmap, health and driving profitability of the products on the shelf of the Benefitfocus Marketplace. In particular, this position will be responsible for working closely with the product manager for employer enablement, who is responsible for taking products from your shelf and adding them to employers. The product manager is responsible for managing the offering throughout the product lifecycle, prioritization and grooming of the investment backlog, design oversight to ensure alignment to vision, coordinating with strategic technology and services partners, and leading cross functional teams including Product Ownership, User Experience, Quality Assurance and Engineering to drive the execution of the product backlog. This role also includes consultation and oversight with the Customer Development organization to ensure alignment with product direction where necessary.


The role is expected to:

• Understand the needs of sellers (specialty, L&A, etc.) and ensure our offering meets those needs

• Maintain clear definition of the seller solutions and market offerings

• Drive product investment and roadmap that ensures alignment with market needs and problems to solve

• Ensure balanced investment across key metrics including quality, scalability, performance, and security

• Partner with Product Portfolio Managers for management and grooming of the backlog

• Collaborate with Marketing to develop the positioning and messaging for the market

• Support development of pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals

• Participate in cross functional team of Sales, Marketing, and Product to develop sales tools and collateral

• Evaluate new market opportunities and execute buy/build/partner evaluations to solve for emerging opportunity


Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 year's experience as a Product Manager or similar role that values understanding the client and getting stuff done

• Experience with or as an HR Administrator or Broker is highly valued

• Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)

• Preference will be given for candidates with GBAs, CEBS or PHR certifications

• Technical background, with experience in managing SaaS solutions

• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority • Experience presenting in front of executives, clients and prospects

• Must be able to travel 20% of the time

• This position can be remote, but preference will be given to candidates willing to move to Charleston
