Job Summary

As NetApp continues to transform its business and make its Data Fabric Vision a reality, it is continuing to evolve its* S&OP process to help it become more agile, focused, and disciplined in its* operations planning process. As a Product Manger in the Portfolio Demand Planning Team, you* ll be helping NetApp plan its quarter by quarter achievement of product revenue and market share growth objectives to help pivot the business to strategic growth areas

As a Portfolio demand planner, you will be responsible for product segment demand plans, reports, and presentations. You* ll work closely with Platform Product Managers, Pricing, Analytics, Sales, Quote tool, Finance, & Supply Chain to deliver a comprehensive demand plan to support the end to end Sales & Operational planning process. You will highlight and drive business issues and risks to resolution as it pertains to demand planning; maintain demand and analytical models; and evaluate and work on continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements

As a Product Manager, in then Portfolio Demand team, you are part of a dynamic team that delivers value to the NetApp organization and supports sales and revenue generation goals. The team is tasked to:

    Understand the market dynamics, and salient features of demand within the Product Segment & Business unit of support
    Develop and maintain a forecast model that includes both descriptive trends & forecasts through a six-quarter horizon.
    Analyze and report on trends and assumption changes and the impact to demand profile within both the product segment and business unit segments
    Work with cross functional team to understand commodity & Platform roadmap changes and their impact on the product demand & attach rates within a product segment
    Work with BU Platform managers to develop transitional demand plans, characterize risks within transitions and put forward actionable plans to mitigate risk.
    Conduct * What If* scenario planning to simulate impacts on differing market share growth assumptions, NPI product transitions, and large deals to develop a comprehensive demand plan
    Review and influence Product Structure and SKU requirements for the product segment to include complete PSRR submittals, solid ROI or strategic alignment & reporting structure are in place.
    Create crisp actionable executive and working team presentations for submittal with the forecast that allows for clear understanding of changes, assumptions & risks, and outcomes in the S&OP meetings.
    Maintain Portfolio Demand Management KPI* s and conduct ad-hoc analysis to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve the accuracy and quality of the demand forecasts.
    Strong verbal and written communications skills, must be comfortable making executive presentations, and communicating at all levels of the organization up to Vice President.

* Demonstrate strong understanding of Forecasting, financial analysis, and statistical analysis/modeling.

* Strong ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams.

* Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas. Must demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization, and the ability to drive results if/when there are not clearly defined responsibilities.

* Market understanding/experience in the technology industry.

* Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

* Broad understanding of NetApp* s products and services technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.

* Expert in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, with experience in data structure, SQL, and data science

Education

    Responsibility:
    The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.
    This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.
    Interaction:
    This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
    Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.
    The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.
    To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.
    A minimum of 5 years of experience is required; 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
    A Bachelor of Arts of Science Degree is required or equivalent experience.
    Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
