Product Managers within Marketing Operations at American Century Investments play a key role in helping to drive forward strategic objectives of the client marketing and sales teams. This role will collaborate with client marketers and sales professionals to understand the vision for the business, identify the needs and wants of the client, build and lead program roadmaps, prioritize work to meet the team objectives, and support and track the delivery of prioritized work.


  • You will take ownership of the key responsibilities for leading the vision, roadmap and pipeline within an assigned program (e.g., Content Subscriptions, Financial Advisor / Professional Marketing Journey, Online Experience, etc.)
  • Partner with the Client Marketing teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for integrated multi-channel / multi-touchpoint / multi-stage marketing programs
  • Write and communicate integrated marketing program plans to define goals, strategies and requirements for assigned programs and projects
  • Develop a keen understanding of segmentation, analytics and customer profiles, utilizing data and insights (e.g., seasonality, trends, behaviors, life stage, lifecycle, etc.) to implement creative integrated marketing strategies and tactics
  • Partner with Marketing Operations and IT professional to identify technical marketing capability gaps and help lead the evolution of the marketing technology innovation and adoption, inclusive of needs assessment, requirements definition and active participation in vendor evaluation and selection, integration, and ongoing platform management
  • Work with Product Owners and Delivery teams to help prioritize work, remove impediments to implementation, and track progress
  • Participate in Delivery Team demonstrations to ensure solutions are implemented that meet the intent of the vision and strategy
  • Lead resources and efforts across marketing and sales teams to design, develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across an array of marketing channels (email, web, paid search, paid social, etc.)
  • Liaise across teams to develop effective web and other digital content to support marketing campaigns, collaborating with our marketing and content teams to optimize quality in the creation and deployment of marketing content
  • Construct a measurement framework that enables digital marketing program effectiveness and efficiency optimization
  • Research marketing (and MarTech) trends as well as competitor initiatives to maintain global insights to cross-elevate American Century’s marketing capabilities
  • Serve as a business owner and thought partner for integrated marketing efforts across the organization

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Deep knowledge of integrated marketing and marketing automation landscape, innovations, and emerging trends with proven ability to quickly adapt.
  • Experience crafting and implementing integrated multi-channel marketing strategies in support of client journeys
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can align priorities, plan, organize and follow through on assignments, with a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on assignments independently, using a high level of autonomy and initiative in resolving problems and developing recommendations
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple internal and external business partners (Business Owners, Marketing, Training, IT, Client Ops)

Required Experience:

  • At least 7+ years experience in marketing, retail or other meaning field, with a background in financial services industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Proven project management skills; ability to lead multiple projects within tight timelines, while producing quality work
  • Technical acumen; experience with digital marketing technology platforms including Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Adobe Experience Manager software preferred
  • Experience with executing within an Agile environment
  • Experience in process re-engineering efforts demonstrating methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Management.
