Summary
The Product Manager will play a key role in the Salt division Consumer & Industrial product groups by managing daily business activities and special projects to achieve strategic objectives including, but not limited to: analysis, management of product line lifecycle, marketing, research, related vendor management, S&OP, and assisting with strategy development/execution.

Responsibilites

  • Oversee assigned product groups in managing SKUs/portfolio, including research, setup, change management, pricing, marketing, distribution, execution and optimization
  • Contribute to achievement of key financial metrics
  • Thoroughly analyze the business including sales trends, market drivers, and pricing, as well as conducting opportunity analysis including market/channel/competitive assessments and product/industry data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, R&D, planning, sales, procurement and finance to coordinate new products, packaging updates and other changes to ensure timelines and goals are being met
  • Own all project management and timelines, developing and updating as needed, with conscientious follow up and follow through
  • Assist in and/or participate with the sales managers on key account visits or trade shows
  • Support S&OP (sales and operations planning) functions related to managing products – analyzing and recommending demand and supply changes, etc.
  • Oversee marketing projects, collateral/web development and maintenance, etc.
  • Management of relationships with outside agencies and vendors

Qualification Education and Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is required
  • 5-10 years’ experience in product marketing or business management

Experience
Expertise in marketing and/or product management in consumer/retail or industrial business, including management of a portfolio of products or brands

Supply chain management (multiple plants, transportation modes, seasonality, etc.)

Financial analysis, including and understanding of key drivers of revenue and costs, margin management

Strong business acumen

Strong project management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including business and marketing communications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent PC and data mining skills, including:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
ERP system (E1 or SAP)
Oracle BI analysis
Salesforce/CRM platform experience a plus
Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus

Ability to manage cross-functional teams

A strong results orientation; detailed and tenacious

Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing priorities

Sound strategic thinking and ability to produce original ideas
