SUMMARY: Defines and delivers features and services that delight customers and improve Clearent's operating profit through both new revenue and cost savings.


1. Increase velocity of software development

  • Maintain 3-month view of future Dev pipeline

  • Deliver clear, complete, and timely features, user stories and associated requirements to development

  • Partner with development leads to groom the development pipeline, including participation in estimation and sprint commit meetings

  • Maintain regular availability to development for clarifications, decisions, and answers to questions during the sprint cadence

2. Develop deep understanding of market and customer needs

  • Conduct primary market research through frequent customer, prospect, and evaluator interviews either on-site or by phone.

  • Attend at least 4trade shows, conferences or onsite customer visits per year

  • Provide system and industry expertise to Sales, Support and Marketing efforts

3. Increase platform capacity and capability

  • Support new customer and corporate acquisitions (conversion/migration)

  • Identify system requirements and plan/execute their implementation, enabling Clearent to enter new channels and markets for processing

  • Regularly monitor association enhancements and rules changes to ensure the Horizon platform maintains and improves its compliance with all applicable interchange, regulatory, and data quality rules.

  • Continuously identify, quantify and prioritize manual operational tasks, replacing them with system automation

4. Increase operating profit

  • In partnership with IT (Development), Sales/Support (Training), and Marketing (Launch), deliver system improvements and enhancements generating incremental gross profit per agreed-upon targets

  • Ensure that all reject and chargeback write-offs, as well as regulatory and compliance fees and fines, are below prescribed thresholds

5. Identify, track and report key performance indicators

  • Identify key metrics appropriate for the Horizon platform

  • Track and report metrics, including results vs. target

  • Demonstrate continuous improvement of results


  • 5 or more years of related business experience in a product manager, product owner, business analyst, or software developer role.

  • Prior experience in payments, particularly credit card processing, preferred.

  • College degree or college coursework preferred.
