Role Summary/Purpose

The Product Management Director leads a team of Product Managers responsible for the development of Alstom's Freight & Mining and North American Transit products. He/she is responsible for leading our Product Management team to drive the competiveness of our products in terms of features, functionality, price, and quality. This role could be based in Grain Valley, MO, Melbourne, FL or Rochester, NY

Essential Responsibilities

Program Guidance

Lead the Product Management team to:

  • Define and prioritize product features in cooperation with Commercial Marketing, Sales organizations, and Engineering
  • Create and maintain Product Marketing Plans
  • Collect, analyze and specify user requirements
  • Develop the product concept proposals for new development programs and releases
  • Produce the appropriate content for demos, manuals, marketing material, etc.

Sales Support

Lead the Product Management team to:

  • Provide consultation & support for internal and external key-customers (solution proposals, feasibility studies, lockout specs, tender responses, etc.)
  • Support tradeshows and demonstration presentations
  • Provide internal product training


Lead the Product Management team to:

  • Continuously seek ways to optimize the benefits and cost of the product offerings and collaborate with the Solutions teams to incorporate these into Alstom Reference Libraries
  • Analyze competitive offerings in our industry and available technologies outside our industry that could translate


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years experience in product marketing, product development, or related field
