Overview

Position Summary

  • Technically aids the sales force, customers and potential customers in an effort to drive machinery, parts and service sales. Provides direction to colleagues throughout the organization in an effort to improve sales, profitability, safety, quality and customer satisfaction levels. Performs in supervisory role.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist sales and customers with technical questions that may require research, and consultation with other colleagues, departments and/or JBT Business Divisions division
  • Develop market communication on product lines including sales arguments, payback analysis, sales support materials, presentation materials
  • Support the commercial team with market launch and product training packages (internal and external).
  • Making pricing recommendations based on application, customer and competitive situations.
  • Create drawings and specifications by using CAD to make equipment layouts.
  • Providing recommendations about possible machinery or execution improvements and lead the site to implement agreed upon improvement efforts.
  • Support the commercial team with market launch and product training packages (internal and external).
  • Guarantee that every task is accomplished in agreement with JBT standards established for safety, health and environment
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
  • Train on or off-site employees as needed in regards to machinery applicability, operation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Controller on financial issues related costing and pricing
  • Helps Facilitate communications between cross company and functional teams to ensure that issues are identified and incorporated into schedules and processes.
  • Participates in the quotation process and provides project management related information such as schedules and budgets.
  • Travel to JBT suppliers to verify purchased equipment operates to specification.
  • Annually prepare and implements the plan for the development of competences for all subordinates;
  • Guarantee that all subordinates understand, apply and formally agree with the guidelines, policies and practices established in the Code of Ethics of the company
  • Hire, develop and retain individuals to meet the current and future business requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education:

This position requires a four-year BS or BA degree in Engineering (ME, EE, or AE), Science, or Business related field.

5 years of work experience in the food production (or related) industry as an application engineer or related field

Preferred Requirements

  • Very proficient with a PC and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Very strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to present ideas and information clearly and concisely, either to individuals or to a large group.
  • Ability to read, interpret and prepare technical drawings.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership ability within a team environment and contributes significantly to team performance.
  • Understands division's businesses and competing products and technologies and profit impact of decisions.
  • Experience with project negotiations, multi-site interfaces, and commercial management of contracts, supplier quality systems and development management strategies.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical/controls aptitude.
  • Effective organization, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  • Possesses leadership qualities to effective lead and motivate assigned employees to successfully achieve goals.
  • A very good technical understanding of all of Liquid Foods products and services.
  • A very good understanding of the food industry segments and customers we serve on a global basis.
  • Effective knowledge about our key competitors and their products.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong affinity for and history of working well with customers.
  • Has or can obtain a valid Passport.
