Job Title

Product DirectorThe Director, Product Management, Payments Connectivity is accountable for leading and delivering the strategy and associated revenues for instant payments connectivity products, including API, messaging and security capabilities.

Providing a range of interfacing products to make our real time ACH systems the simplest to connect to, including API gateway, messaging services, selected legacy protocols and software products. Creation of partner ecosystem, solutions, sales messaging and end to end product ownership.

Responsibilities:

To ensure that resources are focussed on the right payment connectivity products, in the right markets, by developing robust business cases or, when applicable, ensuring that products are rejected from the portfolio to maximise return and minimise loss.
To ensure that all payment connectivity products are being serviced and enhanced to increase revenue, reduce costs and maintain customer satisfaction to target levels.
To manage P&Ls for all payment connectivity products and to ensure product based financial planning and analysis.
To develop a world class function; fostering a culture of success and collaboration. Leading the team that acts as the cross-company orchestrators of delivery and management of payment connectivity products; recognised leaders that build virtual teams across Finance, Sales, Development, Operations and Marketing.
Create, manage and own payment connectivity product requirements from ideation to implementation across internal and external technology providers
Manage ongoing development, release & requirements process across product lifecycles
Manage requirements gathering, review and prioritization process with regions and external stakeholders. Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
Work with the delivery & development team to define product requirements, new capabilities, SLAs, and the roadmap of product suite
Coordinate internal and external resources needed for the development and deployment of payment connectivity product suite
Identify and develop local partnerships to help accelerate the delivery of payment connectivity product and solutions
To lead ‘game changing’ organisational change initiatives, where applicable across Business Units and geographies
During periods of absence, to deputise for the VP and SVP roles at Executive meetings and to effectively communicate, present and influence at board level, both internally and externally.
Work across Vocalink and MasterCard organisation to ensure relevant assets are utilised to support business line objectives

Skills and experience required for this role are:

Understanding of API gateway technology and market, familiarity with encryption products and market, and IBM MQ based solutions.
Experience with API technology and UI product management (hands on UI/UX not required)
A leader with outstanding people management skills and the proven ability to build and inspire teams to achieve exceptional objectives.
Excellence in customer needs analysis and market focus, throughout the end to end product implementations life cycle ownership
Expertise in market matters such as target market characteristics, market trends, purchasing power of customers, competition, technological landscape
High degree of commercial acumen and analytical rigour
Technically pragmatic and flexible with Innovative approach
Experience in managing development of products with and for tier 1 banks
Genuine industry thought leaders with broader payments market background, capable of setting a vision
A strategic thinker who can challenge the status-quo and develop plans for successful delivery of challenging objectives.
A communicator and influencer, from board level through to technical level.
An agile mind with the ability to absorb and interpret technical and business information.
A commercial focus that leads to corporate growth through proven experience of business case development, revenue generation and cost control.
An in depth understanding, coupled with the ability to mentor others, of the Product Management Life-Cycle

The following technical competencies are required:-

MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) experience
Ability to present analysis and key findings to senior management level / industry bodies in a clear yet informative manner.
Translate business information requirements toprovide meaningful analytical results. (Identify and analyse data utilising third party data / presenting findings).
