Cutting Edge Connect is working on behalf of a manufacturer who is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer within the Product Development department.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, presenting (to management) developing and implementing plans to capitalize on cost and time saving opportunities within the company's manufacturing, assembly and procurement supply chain. Recommendations may include: new equipment, wholly or partially outsourcing operations, re-tooling, product redesign, revising workflows, procedures or methods, implementing new technology etc. All proposals must include projected benefits and method and timeline for measuring results (i.e. cost, quality, time).

Position Requirements:

  • BS, Engineering (prefer mechanical, industrial, materials, manufacturing or design)
  • 3-8 Years Engineering experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Some overnight travel required (Hydome, vendors, trade shows, customer visits)
  • Physical
  • Ability to work with hands, operate 'light' machinery (i.e. to build prototypes)
  • Handle/work in the vicinity of a variety of materials (metals, plastics, films, adhesives, inks, solvents etc.) while wearing appropriate safety attire
  • Must be able to accurately interpret colors and printed images
  • Must be a clear verbal and written communicator in English
  • Design and work experience with: AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, ProE, CAM software, database management, Windows Suite, JavaScript, Project Management Software, ERP systems


Essential Functions:

  • Manage multiple projects at once towards timely completion

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, finance, operations staffs and suppliers

  • Coordinate technical details for prototypes and tool-making

  • Create and convert to 2D or 3D CAD/CAM drawings as needed for production and toolmaking
  • Maintain records of products, projects and manufacturing details
  • Discuss and communicate project details verbally and in writing to collaborators and Engineering Manager
  • Conduct product testing according to established protocols, develop new standards as needed
  • Trade show and travel appearances as needed (I0% travel)
