Our Del City business in Menomonee Falls, WI is adding a Product/Category Manager to their team. Reporting to the Division President, this position significantly contributes to the overall profitability, growth, and vitality of the Del City product offering, primarily responsible for product portfolio management, new product strategy and execution. This key role serves as the virtual “general manager” for the product line and works with all functions of the organization to provide leadership and direction necessary to achieve profitability, growth, and vitality goals.
Key Responsibilities:• Top line and bottom line growth of assigned product categories. • Product strategy development and execution including product mix, pricing, positioning, branding, cost reduction, and inventory management decisions.• Owner and champion of new product road maps and the prioritization of NPD projects.• Product life cycle and portfolio management from definition, through design, support, rationalization, discontinuance and phase out.• Conducts industry, market and competitive research bringing key insights to product decisions.• New product ideation, justification and launch.• Category analysis including evaluating industry trends, understanding the competitive landscape, market trends and benchmarking through comprehensive collection of VOC (voice of customer).• Identifies and executes aggressive new product line expansion plans to drive profitable growth.• Works closely with Sales leadership as primary contact/expert for product line issues to harvest key new and existing product growth opportunities.• Develops promotional strategies, sales programs and product training.• Provides input and guidance for sales forecasting and budgets.• Monitors and reports out on monthly revenue, profitability, and new product introductions taking corrective action and implementing countermeasures as necessary.• Key input to Marketing team on brand messages, sales literature, and other content.• Provides product training regularly to sales, customer service, and customers. • Works closely with global sourcing and logistics teams to ensure product quality, availability and delivery.
Required Experience:• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field, MBA a plus• 3-5 years related experience with a minimum of 2 years demonstrated success in product, category or project management.• Experience in the use of fact-based problem solving techniques.• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, ORACLE 11i preferred.• Experience with electrical, automotive, marine and/or industrial products in a B2B distribution environment preferred.• Experience with a large e-commerce / catalog retailer / wholesaler a plus.• Experience with CRM software (OnContact, salesforce.com) preferred.• Up to 20% travel required.
