The Producer II will be a key member of the CNN Business Video team, primarily focusing on daily and breaking news videos.
This person will pitch ideas, make assignments, and oversee producers as they execute daily and breaking news videos. They should be confident operating independently and leading others.
When it comes to breaking news, speed is key. This Producer II will help however possible – doing research, gathering elements, editing, and writing scripts, handling approvals, and communicating with partners across the organization. They’ll also pay close attention to video performance data and use audience insights to inform their assignments.
The ideal candidate is a news-oriented producer with a love for breaking news in the business, tech, and media space. They should be well informed on the news of day and love to hunt for buzzy video stories and moments. They should have the ability to spot errors and provide feedback to improve the final product. They should also be a team player, willing to pitch in however needed. Sound editorial judgment and creativity are a must, along with an ability to navigate a large deadline-driven news organization.
