Source2Pay organization is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, data & analytics, outsourcing, commercial review, contract management, financing and acquisition of indirect procurement across the organization, subsidiaries and affiliates. The Procurement Contract Manager will support the Category Sourcing team with the execution of commercial transactions. Specifically, this position will own and manage all activity relating to drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing a variety of commercial contracts. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage and solve complex business and contractual problems and to work autonomously but within defined corporate and department policies, processes, and guidelines; ability to frequently take contractual direction provided by legal, Category Sourcing and management teams; possesses expert-level contract writing and negotiating skills; excellent problem solving skills, as well as expertise in conflict resolution, communications and interpersonal skills. This position further requires the candidate to have an attention to detail, great follow through, ability to identify and drive global process improvements, coordinate between cross-functional teams, and be a great communicator to both external and internal stakeholders. Essential duties and responsibilities include, without limitation: Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing a variety of commercial contracts. Experience with contracting Marketing, Human Resources, Professional Services and other related indirect spends agreements is an asset.; Work in close partnership with the Category Sourcing and internal business teams to understand the business needs, negotiated terms and align on execution strategies during contract negotiations; Identifying and advising internal stakeholders on risks associated with each transaction and proposing practical/strategic risk mitigation strategies in connection with such commercial transactions; Completing, and overseeing completion of, administrative tasks associated with maintenance of contract management database; Provide on-going guidance to the internal business teams regarding negotiated contractual provisions, rights and obligations, agreed milestones, delivery and payment schedules, and provide best course of action to ensure contract compliance. Responsible for all contractual performance post initial execution, including drafting of amendments, change orders, or termination letters. Successfully conduct problem resolutions and performance disputes with suppliers to mitigate the companys exposure; Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and applies procurement guidelines specific to the particular needs/ requirements of each contract; Initiates review of existing contracts to identify areas of vulnerability or risk and develops strategy to address; Develops strong interfaces with various teams including Corp, Divisional and Trademark Legal, FCPA and Export Compliance, Finance, etc. and contract requestors and maintains close contact to effectively drive the contract process to completion. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and applies best practice principles and concepts where appropriate; Performs required tasks in support of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as requested by management on a case by case basis.All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company.
Requires a bachelors degree in business, law, or a related field and 10 or more years of progressively complex experience with indirect spend contracts.Preferred Qualifications-Expert level skillset in drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions, including master services agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), and subscription agreements, license agreements, HR benefits related agreements, etc. -Ability to multitask and handle a large volume of projects and contracts simultaneously with accuracy in a fast-paced office environment (typical contract queue is approx. 20) -Excellent strategic and creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer; -Results driven, motivated and comfortable with facing high-pressure challenges; -Strong ability to build relationships/networks with multiple functions and at various levels; -Strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills; -Self-starter and independent worker.Education Requirements-Requires a bachelors degree in business, law, or a related field and 10 or more years of progressively complex experience with indirect spend contracts.
