Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute strategic sourcing initiatives for engineering, procurement and constructioncontractors and categories. 
  • Create, manage, and maintain relationships with key EPC contractors within the renewable energy (solar, wind and energy storage) markets.
  • Develop and lead the process of EPC contractor selection based on pre-defined selection criteria.
  • Develop and issue competitive bid packages using RFQ/RFP processes. Facilitate both commercial and technical question and answer inquiries amongst internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively support the negotiation of price, terms & conditions, delivery, and contract changes with contractors in accordance with Supply Chain Policies and practices. 
  • Lead internal team resolution on changes to labor/constructioncontracts, charges for termination, restocking, logistics, expediting, schedule changes, and monies due to NRG as a result of warranty claims, faulty material or poor workmanship.
  • Manage and negotiate with EPC contractors to meet objectives related to safety, cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality.
  • Ensure timely and frequent engagement with key cross-functional teams on all issues EPC.
  • Requires strong services contracting abilities, editing of work scope, understanding of company terms and conditions, and accurate monitoring of commercial changes from award to delivery.
  • Build high-performing relationships with internal colleagues in development, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, asset management and legal.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field required.
  • Energy industry experience is preferred – renewables (solar, wind and energy storage) experience is highly desired.
  • Five or more years of experience in supply chain management or related field is required.
  • Five or more years of EPC contracting experience is highly desired.
  • Demonstrable project management skills working with large scale EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating EPC or other agreements a must.
  • Working knowledge of the integration between procurement and supply chain systems data.
  • SAP or other ERP systems knowledge is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Coachable, a strong willingness to learn, positive attitude and able to put the team above self.
  • Ability to travel 10-20%.
