A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Work with hourly and salaried personnel at production sites to identify improvement opportunities for both processes and equipment through site assessments
  • Effectively lead, communicate with, and mentor hourly and salaried team members at both the facility and corporate level
  • Review maintenance and downtime data to identify production equipment that needs repair, replacement, or reconfiguration
  • Coordinate and lead efforts to return asset performance to optimized base case with third party support and internal resources as needed
  • Assist asset owners in managing and prioritizing lists of improvement opportunities for their respective assets based on business need
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts and operations personnel within Georgia Pacific to develop standardized operating and maintenance strategies for similar assets and equipment
  • Assist in planning specific outage activities with operations teams to ensure that desired results are achieved
  • Identify root cause for identified process losses
  • Apply Subject Matter Expertise to support short term technical requests across multiple facilities
  • Support trials of new process technology and equipment and provide assessment of applicability with existing asset base

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering
  • Five (5) or more years' experience in a manufacturing leadership role supporting paper making operations
  • Experience reading and interpreting piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID's), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to include face shield, fall protection, and respirator as required
  • Willing and able to work in operating environments that include platforms and catwalks, elevated temperatures, and variable humidity levels
  • Willing and able to work occasional weekends, nights, and holidays when needed

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using PI ProcessBook/ PI Asset Framework or comparable data historian
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in a maintenance planning role
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in a production optimization role
  • Previous experience using Root Cause Analysis strategies
  • Troubleshooting experience in specific paper making equipment and process areas: Yankee steam systems, hood systems, formation, sheet handling, pressure rolls, and machine clothing
  • Previous work experience in a technical design or service capacity related to tissue or towel paper making
