Full Job Description
TITLE: Process Engineer

LOCATION: New York City (hybrid)

SALARY: $120,000 - $140,000 + bonus and equity (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)

The Role:

We are building the intelligence platform for private markets. As a Process Engineer on the Data Solutions Team at Canoe, you will treat our Data team as your primary customer and our internal processing platform as your product. Your mission is to take an automation-first approach to bring agentic process development into focus for data management at Canoe.

What You'll Do:
  • Redefine Data Processing: Investigate, optimize, rationalize, and build the future.
  • Rapid Problem Solving, Prototyping, and Execution: Serve in a strategic and hands on capacity to bring automated solutions to clients and internal teams. Write scripts, configure tools, and build "low-code" automations to fix immediate problems.
  • Re-Engineer Broken Processes: Audit existing workflows to find "black boxes" and broken logic. Map the "As-Is" operational reality and design the "To-Be" automated future.
  • Operational Expertise: Own the configuration and operational alignment across client workflows to the Canoe standard, driving scale and data depth across our business.
  • Bridging Ops & Engineering: Translate the messy reality of private markets data into clean, structured technical requirements for our Data Team.


What We're Looking For:
  • 3-5 years of experience in data operations roles with progressive responsibility increases
  • Operational Proficiency: Must be an operator. You're a person that likes to get your hands dirty and learn processes from the bottom up.
  • Process Engineering Mindset: Proven ability to look at messy and unstructured data & operational workflows, deconstruct them, and rebuild them with the future state in mind.
  • "No Ivory Towers" Attitude: Willingness to do the manual work to understand the problem.
  • Bias for Action: You prefer shipping an 80% automated solution today over planning a 100% perfect solution for next year.
  • Coaching & Training: You care deeply about bringing people with you, leading through influence, and aligning the current state to the future state by bringing transition to the team.
