As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing standards, requirements, best practices and design guidelines for all of Blue Origin. You will support multiple programs and share in the team's impact on all aspects of design, configuration, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and process improvement. In this role, you will develop processes and requirements for the manufacturing engineering organization. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.


  • Develop requirements to drive high quality manufacturing processes that will enable human flight
  • Identify, establish and provide the necessary tools, training, and strategic processes to enable high quality, efficient, manufacturing across the company
  • Drive company understanding of procedures and processes to ensure compliance
  • Define proper configuration management of manufacturing artifacts
  • Determine tooling and material handing requirements and best practices
  • Create and provide training on manufacturing standards and best practices through the product lifecycle
  • Communicate across multiple levels and programs
  • Participate in design reviews and represent manufacturing's interest
  • Identify manufacturing metrics, monitor, and drive improvements
  • Develop and maintain a disciplined vision towards continuous improvement in all aspects of development and production
  • Develop processes and tools for should cost and design to value
  • Identify, develop, and mature new manufacturing technology in support of all business units
  • Capture and communicate manufacturing lessons learned and best practices
  • Coach, mentor and technically assist other engineers
  • Provide technical guidance for manufacturing and integration


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace
  • 5+ years of experience in one of the following disciplines; mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Proven experience and successful track record of taking ownership and delivering results
  • Strong manufacturing process development skills
  • Understanding of product lifecycle management
  • Ability to operate, make decisions, lead, and make forward progress in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to take on wide scope of projects and thrives in understanding interaction of multiple systems and programs.
  • Experience with MRP systems, work order creation, management, and BOM structures
  • Experience with DFMA and PFMEAs
  • Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, testing, and development
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


  • Aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle experience
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance analysis (ASMEY 14.5)
  • Experience moving development products to production
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably CREO
  • Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware
  • Experience with IoT manufacturing
  • Knowledge of fabrication and integration processes, and quality control.
  • Experience with optimization and DOE methods as applied to manufacturing and testing
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001
