The primary role of the Privacy function is to support activities to develop and to support the organization to implement and administer data privacy programs, and advocate for and support the planning of privacy initiatives (Privacy by Design) throughout the organization.
Your key responsibilities include advising on evolving regulatory and contractual compliance, and fostering Ivanti’s culture of respect for the privacy rights of our customers, employees, and business partners. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for supporting and advising on all matters surrounding data protection/privacy.
Title: Privacy Counsel
Researching and interpreting laws and regulations to ensure Ivanti’s policies, guidelines, and processes are compliant
Work with members of the Privacy office and other key internal stakeholders to review proposed projects which involve the collection or utilization of personal data, advise on privacy risks and compliance with local data privacy laws
Assist Director of Privacy with creation, development, and enhancement of:
Privacy compliance tools and processes, such as data collection intake
Privacy notices and other consents
Provide a point of escalation for cross-business privacy needs and decision-making
Advise and assist with Privacy-related impact assessments (e.g., PIAs, DPIAs) and documentation of records of processing activities
Assist as needed for standard consumer opt-out request escalations, customer inquiry escalations, and enforcement issues and escalations.
Undergraduate and JD degrees, and active member of a state bar
Experience in a similar role with great exposure to global Data Protection and Privacy laws and regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO 27701, SSAE 18)
Familiarity with information technology developments, including SaaS development
Able to use a range of communication and influencing techniques to successfully negotiate, collaborate or effect change, in relation to data protection and privacy matters with different stakeholders at all levels within the business (e.g. Operations, HR, IT, Security)
Able to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced fun and dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail
Appetite to be challenged and developed
Ability to work to regulatory deadlines sometimes under pressure, with exceptional time management, activity coordination, and prioritization skills.
In-house experience in a multinational corporation preferred
