Participate in user research activities inclusive of participatory design sessions.
Interpret business needs into effective UX/UI parameters.
Define and develop user interface and user requirements.
Ensure to conceptualize and develop use scenarios on entire product level.
Conduct usability studies for projects, report results to product teams.
Develop innovative and easy to use visual and experience design solutions addressing complex marketing, business and user needs.
Collaborate with both team and leadership stakeholders while being an ambassador for the end user.
Help concept as well as translate feature requirements in interaction and visual designs throughout various product platforms. (embedded UI, app UI, etc.)
Develop rapidly behavioral prototypes, user flows, final design assets, low and hi-fidelity mock-ups and lightweight design specifications.
Perform closely with development team and assist UI implementation efforts.
Ensure to evolve company Experience Brand Language as well as establish main design standards.
Involve and contribute to UI design plus prototype new product features. Utilizes critical judgment and individual evaluation to apply elements and principles of design to user experience and visual design with regard for functionality and usability at the highest level of expertise.
Manages and mentors internal design team in design output utilizing and improving upon tools and systems to track design deliverables and measure outcomes.
Serves as a design leader in collaboration with creative organizations outside the company when needed.
Addresses UX/UI concerns in project meetings as well as in some leadership venues in the absence of the Director, Global Design when needed.
Collaborates with leadership in Product Management, Project Management, Engineering and Manufacturing in giving direction to advance the best design practices in alignment with established Moen corporate business strategies in employing Design Thinking and Design Doing methodologies.
Obtains pertinent information from project teams and disciplines throughout the Moen organization that may have impact on product design and communicates it to the Design Director.
Bachelor’s Degree in an associated design field is required; Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related design or behavioral science discipline is preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience that can be demonstrated by a portfolio of prior work. Consulting experience is preferred.
Possess advanced skill and experience in the following:
Strong knowledge of user experience design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to service design, retail customer experience or space design.
Strong project and people management skills. Must be able to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor.
Proficiency with sketching, visualizing, prototyping and testing of service solutions in both early and late stages of development
Professional with the use of service design techniques: value proposition, journey mapping, service specification, blueprinting, testing, etc.
Updated on the latest techniques/trends/thinking within your field and ready to share your knowledge and thoughts with both colleagues and clients
Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
A passion for creating products and services that resonate emotionally with people. Applied principles of aesthetics, ingenuity, creativity, original thinking.
Experience working with and identifying external suppliers in achieving desired results that can enhance design usability, functionality and style.
A developed sense of design awareness including current design trends and influencers.
Possess the ability to graphically create strong visual presentations.
As a Principal role, the candidate must be able to interact similar to a consultant/client relationship in identifying and collaborating with internal corporate customers. They must demonstrate effective persuasion and negotiation skills to win collaborative support for good design in cross-functional groups.
