The Head of Total Rewards Strategy will serve as the Center of Excellence thought leader and member of the Human Capital Senior Leadership Team (SLT) focused on the strategy and design of best-in-class programs comprising broad-based compensation as well as health and welfare benefits, and wellness initiatives across the enterprise. He/She will lead a team in this work and will enable us to build a holistic strategy for how we attract, reward, and engage talented and diverse associates in a team-based organization.

Position Requirements- Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns employee rewards with results that support the organization's objectives. The total rewards strategy and programs include Edward Jones' compensation, health, welfare, and retirement programs designed enable the organization to attract, reward, and retain top talent.
- Develop a Total Rewards vision and strategy that enables a privately held, business segmented, team-based organization to deliver financial advice to tens of millions of clients
- Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to design and implement innovative reward structures, conduct market analysis, manage executive compensation, and oversee the overall effectiveness of all total rewards initiatives aligned with our value proposition
- Develop innovative tools and programs that support our purpose and are reflective of a highly collaborative, diverse and hybrid workforce
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee understanding of total rewards offerings and monitor engagement survey related to compensation and benefits.
- Present recommendations for future benefit plan and compensation design to senior leadership and decision-making committees.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to evaluate current plan offerings and value to the firm for implementation
- Maintain relationships with partners and vendors, including monitoring vendor performance and ensuring operational standards are met.
- Partner with firm Sourcing and Legal teams to ensure firm risk is minimized with benefit plan contracts and renewals and that negotiations are in the firm's favor.
- Plan and evaluate changes to different compensation and benefit programs to minimize risk and deliver strategies appropriate to the firm.
- Lead firm Total Rewards communications to all stakeholders.
- Utilizes broad authority and autonomy to make complex, ongoing decisions about area priorities, resources, and approach.
- Lead and develop a team to research, design, evaluate and implement total reward programs across the enterprise
- Partner with our shared services area to ensure implementation and administration of plans deliver intended value and create a positive associate experience
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and other stakeholders to integrate compensation and benefits programs within broader Human Capital Strategies.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE:
12-15 years of progressive experience and increasing leadership responsibility in the areas of broad-based and executive compensation, and health & welfare benefits strategy and design from within a large-scale organization.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. Advanced Degree such as an MBA is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge - In-depth knowledge of ERISA, benefit plan design, plan management.
- Proficient understanding of retirement benefits in the U.S. and Canada, including 401(k) plans, non-qualified plans, and Group Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSP).
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across all fifty U.S. states and Canadian Providences.
- Knowledge of compensation philosophies and best practices.
- Knowledge of existing pension laws including 415 limits, ADP/ACP testing, top heavy rules, ERISA qualifications and IRS rulings.
- Familiarity with compensation structures for partnership structures would be helpful.
- Familiarity with compensation practices at financial services firms, with knowledge of wealth firms particularly valued.
Salary InformationEdward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program.
