Position Summary:
Ensure the on time installation and industrialization of capacity for new programs in ZF Division P (Car Powertrain Technology) on site at supplier locations in North America. Tracking of actions and intense follow up with suppliers and ZF internal departments (such as Developing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality and Logistics) is necessary. In addition to this it is necessary to be consultant and hands on to achieve best results for ZF and our customers.

Position Responsibilities:
• Overall project management for supplier development measures to achieve maturity level of purchased parts while ensuring the project will be completed on time and the needed capacity is installed
• Manages supplier development activities on a global level, by leading supplier audits, analyzing supplier performance and improvement plans
• Manages Supplier Quality by launching new programs and ensuring parts meet quality requirements, in addition to leading resolutions of problems in suppliers subsequent performance, by analyzing supplier quality performance, supports purchasing and cost reduction programs
• Located long term at supplier locations with high flexibility to change locations
• Technical leading of cross-functional teams; tracking of all project tasks regarding supplier development activities
• Execution of project management by creating master project plans and KPI based project tracking
• Preparation and execution of project meetings and steering committees
• Preparation of decision templates and presentations for the steering committee including escalation recommendations and action tracking
• Evaluation of risk analysis
• Leadership of task forces and working within task force teams
• Responsibility of the industrialization processes of the external suppliers (launch management) in new projects, task forces, and critical supplier development projects
o Safe launch activities
o Development of solutions and implementation of possibilities for process and product optimization
o Tracking of measures
• Achievement of cross-functional input and buy-in on supply chain strategies through proactive communication
• Assessment of process know-how of new and existing suppliers within the scope of Supplier Readiness Process through feasibility studies
• Technology workshops to screen technology and manufacturing practices at the suppliers
• Realization of commodity/ process specific Continual Improvement Process (CIP) actions.
• Management of audits and Run@Rates at suppliers

• Responsible for supplier performance for specific Commodity for division P in North America, for continuous quality improvement of the purchased parts from external suppliers, for technical assessment and introduction of new suppliers for the Commodity.

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Production technology) with strong technical background
• 8+ years of professional experience in Quality, Production, Logistics, Cost/Process Planning
• Able to apply advanced communication skills, team player, comprehensive thinking, management skills and high flexibility
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong organizational, task management and prioritization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and leadership skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• VDA 6.3 Process auditor and knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Six Sigma, tools for process capability analysis and problem solving techniques
• Strong MS-Office and project management methods skills
• Prior experience in preparing and delivering information in presentation form to high level management like CEO’s and Plant Managers (ZF internal, suppliers and customers)
• Able to represent ZF in high level meetings with external partners
• High level of independent judgment
• Willingness to travel both foreign and domestic with high flexibility and on short term notice

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Master’s degree in engineering or technical field (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Production technology) with strong technical background
• Certification as Six Sigma Greenbelt/Black belt, or comparable improvement methodology
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods and implementations
• Proficient in otherlanguages (particularly Spanish or German)
