Job Description: 

Overview

The primary responsibility of the Principal Software Architect (PSA) is to help establish target state architecture for banking solutions based on business engagement, discovery, deriving user journeys and identifying the right technology in support of the First National Banking Platform, Digital Interactions and Customer Services organizations that deliver banking products and services. 

This role must establish future technology direction for the IT organization and work with the business to align technology with business driven roadmaps and initiatives.  This includes defining and collaborating reference architecture, governing best practices and standards.  The role must also provide leadership, such as establishing communities of practice, mentoring within workgroups across the IT organization, and working directly with solution architects and lead developers by providing architectural oversight for applications and services that deliver solutions on behalf of the business and our customers.

  1. Responsible for translating business needs into target state architecture

    1. Establishes Reference Architecture used by cross functional teams to create and implement technical solutions that address business problems or support new business driven initiatives

    2. Coordinates design and integration across the 4 IT based organizations (Banking Platform, Digital Interactions, Customer Services and Support the Bank)

    3. Oversees that integrated software architecture solutions meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability and security needs

  2. Advanced understanding of:

    2. Software Development Methodologies including technology and tools that support software design, management, development  and automated testing & delivery

  3. Conducts training and provides mentoring to IT staff and development teams, as needed

  Job Qualifications: 

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 10 years working within the software architecture discipline

  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
