Is crafting and executing community events something you love? If so, then the Technical Community Manager may be just what you’re looking for! This role will live in our various community locales and engage with clients to understand their use cases, communicate findings to product management, and work to keep customers engaged and interested through events, games, interviews, etc.!
Responsibilities:
- Encourage development and contribution of security content (automation playbooks, correlations searches for detection, etc).
- Management of Slack infrastructure
- Direct community engagement (Q&A, announcements, general discussion)
- Engage with PM and engineering for tech sessions
- Lead App and Playbook competitions and advocate for customers via Ideas! portal
- Creating and executing community contributor programs
- Community Site Management Content assistance (blog/videos/KBs/etc)
- Foster a community of collaboration and sharing using modern standards (e.g. TAXII, STIX)
- Develop and execute plan to publish threat discovery and news (blogs, threat bulletins, threat publications) to increase participation in security community
- Build customer community for federated intelligence that shares threat content
- Work with product team to incorporate community intelligence and content into Splunk security platforms
Skill Requirements
- Strong communication skills and comfort with public speaking
- Broad interest and background in Infrastructure / Security domain
- Deep knowledge of the Information Security space
- Ability to craft and execute events for community members
- Ability to optimally advocate for customers by (e.g.):
- Scheduling time with PM and/or Engineering for Community Sessions
- Supervising and metricizing feeds / questions on the Communities portal
- Customer engagement to understand broadly adopted use-cases
- Ability to rapidly come up to speed on sophisticated software (with mentorship from experts)
Education / Experience:
- Background in working with and building communities, and executing events (online and offline)
- Extensive experience with Security Software
- CISSP or other Security-Focused certifications
- Degree in related field
