As a member of the Genetic Toxicology Center of Excellence (CoE) within Drug Safety Research and Development (DSRD), this genetic/cellular toxicology expert will evaluate the potential of therapeutics to cause DNA damage.  Our CoE in Groton, CT partners closely with our research units: Oncology, Rare Disease, I&I and our Internal Medicine Research Unit.

Your work will include the development of high throughput/high content methods utilizing image analysis for the purpose of identifying mechanisms of genotoxicity/cellular toxicity.

You  will interface with drug discovery teams in the US and across the globe  to provide genetic toxicology expertise.  Specifically,  communicate the interpretation and implication of results from standard assays and investigational studies.

Within the CoE, you will guide the design of experiments, mentor and develop other scientists and maintain an awareness of current scientific literature.

Additionally, you will influence the external environment via presentations, publications and membership in consortia.

You should have strong interpersonal and communication skills required to build networks and partnerships.

Experience with high content cellular imaging and a strong background in cellular biology would be desirable.  Genetic toxicology training will be provided.

Further develop as a genetic toxicology subject matter expert
Provide genetic toxicology expertise to DSRD and discovery project teams by interpreting and communicating the results of standard and investigational genotoxicity studies.

Integrate data and present findings and interpretations in written and oral reports to peers, management, and regulatory agencies

Explore, develop and apply novel in vitro assay systems using high content image analysis to study mechanism of genotoxicity

Guide the design of experiments and mentor other scientists
Influence the external environment via presentations, publications and membership in consortia.

PhD in cellular biology, molecular biology, molecular toxicology, cancer biology or a related field
4+ years experience working in the field with associated publication and presentation record

Experience with high content data analysis and computational biology
Columbus Software
Therapeutic area research experience- such as Oncology, I&I, Rare Disease, Immunometabolism

**Some travel to attend scientific meetings and consortia (2-3 times per year)
