Responsible for the development of all employees within the department by supporting the development of Human Resources Planning (HRP) programs including management development and training to meet current and future business needs.

The Principal Scientist, Investigative Immunotoxicology will:

  • Provide Immunotoxicology expertise at all stages of biologic discovery and development for all biologics programs
  • Design and monitors experiments conducted at CROs
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership to the organization on scientific and management matters
  • Develop in vitro and in vivo models of immune-related effects with the goal of translatability 
  • Maintain an industry leading expertise in Immunotoxicology as it related to biologic therapeutics
  • Represent the organization to senior management and peer groups within Janssen and Johnson & Johnson
  • Maintain strong scientific network in academia and the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry to enable external interactions, consulting and recruiting
  • Be a mentor/coach to key scientific staff and guide/enable their career/professional development


  • Ph.D., in immunology, immunotoxicology, toxicology or related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR a M.S., in immunology, immunotoxicology, toxicology or related discipline with at least 8years of relevant experience OR a professional degree (DVM, VMD) with training or extensive experience in immunotoxicology, immunology or related biologic disciplines is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology research management or related experience in drug development with deep expertise in immunological techniques is required
  • Extensive experience with flow cytometry and immunoassays is required
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is required
  • Knowledge of Health Authority regulations and guidelines for the development of biologics (e.g. ICH, FDA, EMEA, PMDA) is preferred
  • Established expertise in Immunotoxicology is required
  • This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, a high level of organizational ability and attention to detail
