Datacenter (DC) Supply Planning sits at the nexus of multiple teams which come together to deliver data center supply starting with the demand signal and ending with physical data center infrastructure in production ready state. We analyze demand for the full spectrum of Microsoft products and services including Azure, AI, Office365, Exchange, xBox, and many more - establishing executable DC Supply Plans to support our rapidly scaling global datacenter portfolio.

The Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) organization is seeking a Principal Program Manager for our DC Supply Planning Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving best practices in data analysis that will drive efficient and effective decision making as we grow in complexity. You will deliver solutions to executives through a rhythm of business that requires the ability to develop robust analysis and documentation, communicate crisply, and drive changes on short intervals. You will own the roadmap for process and software tool development to generate systematic reporting and support execution rhythms.

The role requires expertise in Data Center strategy, total cost to serve, statistical inventory management methods, advanced planning systems and methodologies, and IT infrastructure concepts.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 10+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, OR related field AND 8+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing,
  • OR related experience
  • 2+ years of Data Center industry experience including, but not limited to, data center region strategy, metro-level network design and delivery, critical environment fit-out, or IT infrastructure project management.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Communication and leadership skills to drive projects and build buy-in and support
  • Experience leading and managing a business-critical function

Supply Planning IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.

Responsibilities


  • Drive Infrastructure Supply Planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S+OP), building out supply plans and running internal Sales & Operations Planning (S+OP).
  • Prepare, present, and discuss data center supply strategy with senior leadership relating to cost, lead time, risk, and technical/operational constraints
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement data center supply planning improvements drawing on statistical methods, supply chain management principles, Sales & Operations Planning (S+OP) best practices, and emerging software technology capabilities including ML/AI
  • Work across a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure we collaboratively improve, adapt, and adopt our processes and supporting software systems to support rapidly changing business requirements
  • Builds and manages key relationships needed for supply planning. Drives collaboration and alignment on plans; cross-functional relationships
  • Drives long-term strategy for plans and drives additional forecast variability and with longer-term planning horizons
  • Build and manage monthly Key Performance Indicator reports
