The Woodland Hills office of Farmers Group, Inc. seeks a Principal IT Consultant to lead, support and manage enterprise level program/product requiring design, implementation and support of repeatable, reliable, and scalable infrastructure to support all Farmers personnel. Specific duties include: contribute to strategic, operational, and tactical plans that are aligned with the corporate mission; occupy leadership role in the preparation and evaluation of complex work plans and proposals; formulates standards and guidelines for assigned area; evaluate and implement continuous improvement activities; provide consultation and direction to senior management on impact of major policy, procedures, or program change; provide technical and business leadership within the organization; deal with moderately diverse problems or activities in related functions; direct activities for assigned areas; manage thousands of computes infrastructure and address all the technical challenges of supporting, scaling and enhancing, monitoring and alerting of large-scale infrastructure required to successfully interact with the across of Farmers Departments and Business units; design, implement, and maintain all aspects of Linux-based servers; management of cloud management platforms and PaaS to support and facilitate Enterprise Platform team for agile developments; drive consistent standardized solutions across Farmers Group for all Infrastructure software, configurations, and processes. May require occasional travel within the U.S.


Position requires 8 years of experience in the job offered or as an Infrastructure architecture or similar Technical Architecture Role. Experience must include 8 years of experience with infrastructure architecture focused on Compute, Storage, Networking, Automation, DevOps; leading, supporting and managing enterprise level projects program/product; and delivering financially viable and technology agnostic solution. Experience must also include 5 years of experience managing and leading a highly technical team and communicating updates and results to IT and business executives. Must also have 3 years of experience driving DevOps culture through agile processes (Automation). Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S.
