CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVESWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Technologist to join our Global IT Digital Health team to partner with R&D, Marketing, Business Development, and other functions across the Medtronic business units to define and implement Digital Health strategies in the Hospital IT environment. These initiatives will serve our patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. You will drive adoption and implementation of consumer solutions in the healthcare continuum with a focus on making sure that our solutions work optimally within the various IT environments present in healthcare institutions.
A DAY IN THE LIFE• Internal advisory services• Build out a Global Hospital IT Center of Excellence• Facilitate cross business unit information sharing and collaboration• Develop technical knowledge assets• Conduct comprehensive assessments on health IT vendors and providers• Partner with vendors to ensure Medtronic roadmaps are aligned• Research suitable third-party solutions that are most appropriate, and propose how to integrate them when applicable• Communicate all concepts and guidelines to development team(s)• Recommend solutions to challenges at early stages of concept development• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems• Review and advise on systems configurations, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and designs• Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers• Understand and integrate applicable security protocols• Participate in program roadmap exercises• Design and prepare presentations or briefs• Stay current on general Medtronic business plans and strategies• May involve some travel (10-20% of time)
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)• Bachelor’s Degree• 7+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree• 4+ years of experience in a Hospital IT setting
NICE TO HAVE• Direct EMR / HIE deployment experience along with care pathway and clinical decision support design/development experience• Experience working in clinical informatics and/or data sciences • Experience working with value-based healthcare programs/projects• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and/or architecture• Solid understanding of security, cloud, and IoT concepts• Experience with Hospital Integration Engines (HL7, FHIR, and CCD/CCDA protocols)• Understanding of privacy & security (e.g. HIPAA) requirements• Experience with connected devices and software solutions• Experience with the Payer industry • Experience with real-world healthcare data standards (ICD, HCPCS, LOINC, SNOMED, etc.)• Understanding of regulatory oversight of medical software
