Principal Financial Analyst at Medica Health Plans in Minnetonka, MN

This Principal analyst position will be responsible for cataloging value-based program inventory and financial exposure. This position will be responsible for monitoring financials to track performance and estimating expected value-based payments as well as communicating the performance and expected payments for budgeting and settlement status to internal stakeholders. This position will identify, recommend, and implement new practices to manage a growing portfolio of value-based risk models. The principal analyst will assist in providing thought leadership regarding the development of new modeling approaches for future and existing contract modeling needs. This opportunity includes partnering with stakeholders to understand the current state and understand industry trends to value-based contracting, and providing leadership conceptualizing novel approaches to solve organizational needs. Also, this position will assist in sharing the performance results of Medica's value-based models' provider partners.

This position reports to the Director of Provider Finance and will also be working directly with Medica's Chief Actuary.

Responsibilities Include:

• Cataloging, monitoring, and communicating non-FFS payment budget and settlements for internal stakeholders
• Creating and enhancing financial processes, guidelines, and policies to better manage a growing model value-based portfolio
• Representing finance in value-based model discussions with both internal and external stakeholders
• Providing insights to support existing provider arrangements and payment models
• Financial and analytic support associated with the development of non-FFS payment models
• Developing and refining reporting in response to organizational needs
• Other ad-hoc analytic projects

Qualifications

• Highly advanced working knowledge and skill of professional field with ability to provide direction on very complex projects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field,
• 8 years of work experience beyond degree.
