Responsible for designing FPGAs (programmable logic devices) for space flight electronics, NASA, DoD, commercial space flight as well as other high reliability applications. Must have 5-10 years work experience in digital logic and FPGA design. Responsible for design, analysis (i.e. worst case timing), documentation and verification of digital logic and FPGA's - including hands on work with standard electronics lab equipment. Must be strong in areas of digital design, FPGA design, logic design, State Machine design, FPGA simulation with a testbench and test cases, and must be familiar with basic analog electronics. Must be experienced with Verilog HDL, familiarity with System Verilog and VHDL is a plus. Verification tasks include: leading full FPGA design, simulation and timing analysis, design review execution, and assisting in system level testing, both on site and at customer spacecraft assembly facilities, supporting up to and past launch. Must have strong communication skills; working with scientists, electrical design engineers, and clients to present at project reviews, develop requirements, diagrams, and hardware implementations, working closely with customer and internal design staff to mature requirements and finalize design architecture. Field support may require travel to domestic and international customer facilities. Priority will be given to candidates with direct space flight design experience.
Requires a BS or MS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related degree field with 6-10 years FPGA design, simulation, analysis experience. Requires 3 years of experience with circuitry design and testing. Must possess exceptional FPGA design and simulation skills, with experience in verification and validation of design. Must have strong test and code debugging skills and be proficient with standard Analysis tools. Must have proficiency in Verilog HDL, familiarity with System Verilog and VHDL is a plus. Needs to be able to fit complex logic designs within space FPGAs that have relatively smaller logic banks and slower timing versus commercial parts (i.e. split up long data paths to meet timing). Must possess strong logic design and Finite State Machine (FSM) skills. Must have good basic mathematical skills between decimal, binary, hexadecimal. Must possess basic digital, analog design and test skills and be familiar with design tools and laboratory electronics test equipment. Strong communication skills, including both verbal and written are required. Field support requires travel to customer facilities. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
