We are currently searching for a Principal Reliability & Maintainability Engineer to join our Product Safety team in Richardson, TX or Cedar Rapids, IA to support Collins Aerospace Mission Systems programs.
This role will be worked onsite in Richardson, TX or Cedar Rapids, IA and will require an active or ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Relocation assistance is available.
What You Will Do:
Supports program development through the application of reliability and maintainability techniques.
Participates in all phases of program life cycle, utilizing reliability and maintainability methodologies as they apply in our systems engineering processes in accordance with military standards such as MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-HDBK-338B, MIL-HDBK-470, MIL-STD-1629A.
Leads reliability and maintainability modeling and predictions analysis, testability analysis, maintainability and built-in-test demonstrations, environmental testing, FMEA/FMECA, and FRACAS.
Conducts/develops Reliability Allocations, Reliability Block Diagrams, Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability & Maintainability analysis and predictions, Reliability Critical Items List, and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Serves as a Reliability & Maintainability subject matter expert to engineering and business leadership
Participates in technical proposal and basis of estimate preparation for Reliability & Maintainability scope
Travel up to 5%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with systems engineering lifecycle, with knowledge of how to apply reliability and maintainability techniques to systems requirements
Experience supporting design and development teams to develop, assess, and verify Reliability & Maintainability related requirements for mission-critical systems
Experience in conducting/developing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability & Maintainability analysis and predictions, Reliability Critical Items List, and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), Built In Test (BIT) design / verification analysis, and/or testability analysis
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience in technical proposal preparation related to Reliability & Maintainability
Knowledge of systems architectures and designs
Knowledge of basic circuit analysis and the ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems
Understanding of military aircraft-related missions, functional operation, performance specifications, and validation techniques
Experience planning and conducting Accelerated Stress Testing, or a willingness to learn and apply those techniques, such as Highly Accelerated Life Test processes (HALT), Reliability Enhancement Test (RET), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS)
Experience using industry recognized tools such as Relyence, Reliasoft, Windchill, and/or eXpress
Familiarity with agile development and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
Good presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and build trust with team members from many different backgrounds, including engineering management, engineering teams, program management, business development, support groups, and subcontractors

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
