Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Principal Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the Global Technical Innovations Group during the implementation of capacity expansion projects, selection and definition of future manufacturing platforms, modifications of existing technology or introduction of new products on current manufacturing lines. These projects include but are not limited to activities such as product and processes setup and evaluation, capacity analysis evaluation, concepts definition, vendor technical discussions, prototyping testing, and user requirements definitions.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do:Process Evaluation - Lead problem solving and root cause analysis activities following the DMAIC methodology
- Define process development strategy and implementation plan
- Lead process data statistical analysis and execute characterization activities
- Provide recommendations based on process data analysis
Equipment Design - Define user requirements for new equipment
- Support development of automation and equipment concepts
- Lead proof of concept definition and execution
- Develop equipment process setup guides
- Lead process and technology benchmarking activities
Project Implementation - Lead engineering studies definition and execution
- Lead process development activities for new and existing products and equipment
- Support equipment commissioning
- Support equipment and process qualification activities
- Support equipment performance monitoring and evaluation
- Supervise technical team and vendors assigned to the project
Travel: Must be willing to travel approximately 10% - 25%
QualificationsWhat you will bring: Experience: - 10+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment implementation projects.
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- EIT license highly desirable and CIAPR member.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Proficient using software tools for statistical analysis
- Proven expertise on equipment and automation technical elements.
- Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task, and a commitment to timely follow-up; strong results orientation.
- Excellent project management skills - ability to establish tools and ways of working to ensure accurate and timely follow-up and on-time deliverables.
- Able to communicate professionally across a wide variety of employee levels and locations. Experience in working across multiple cultures & countries is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong technical writing and presentation skills
Bonus If You - Are proficient in Minitab statistical software.
- Possess a Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Have experience working with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau.
