Principal Engineer

Key Role:

Direct a team of architects involved in the design, development, and implementation of IT architecture in support of a Cabinet-level client for secure and insecure communications. Determine user requirements, lead architecture design, plan projects, establish priorities, and monitor progress. Evaluate project status and resource usage and implement changes to improve the team's effectiveness. Coordinate with other project managers to integrate the project with otherarchitecture design initiatives, as needed. Act as a first-level manager and maintain direct responsibility for people management. Maintain responsibility for career development, performance management, and pay determination and communication.

Basic Qualifications:

-15+ years of experience with telecommunications engineering

-Ability to valuate project status and resource usage and implement changes to improve the team's effectiveness

-TS/SCI clearance
-BA or BS degree in Engineering, CS, or Telecommunications

Additional Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with working in a DoD networkpreferred
-Experience with network firewalls, Juniper, and Cisco 

-Experience with access control protocols, including authentication and configuration

-Experience with Network Address Translation (NAT) and troubleshooting

-Experience with DMZ construction and isolation

-Experience with designing, developing, or supporting closed or secure environments

-Experience with designing, developing, or supporting secure voice, video, or data suites

-Experience with designing, developing, or supporting unified communications

-Experience with NLCC

-Experience with iOS, Android, and Microsoft operating systems

-Experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC)
-IT Certifications
-Project Management Certification preferred
