Job Description:
BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring an Electrical Engineer to primarily support projects at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN, with occasional travel to and support of projects at Radford Army Ammunition Plant.   
 
We ideally want a well-rounded Electrical Engineer with instrumentation and control systems design experience.  Experience with on medium and low voltage designs is a plus.  Instrumentation and control systems engineers will work to design and specify instrumentation, PLC-based control systems and networks and work with our programmers and design team to implement projects.  This position will work within a project team to develop designs for new manufacturing facilities, upgrades to existing facilities, and support project planning, proposals, and commissioning.for new manufacturing facilities.

The Electrical Engineers will:
o Develop concept designs and trade studies for new facilities.
o Analyze existing plant infrastructure and recommend upgrade plans and strategies.
o Prepare and present technical aspects of projects during internal and external design and program reviews.
o Provide technical direction to electrical designers and drafting personnel.
o Develop design drawings, scopes-of-work, and equipment specifications.
o Develop subcontract scopes of work, estimates, and proposals.
o Review design submittals from design firms and subcontractors.  
o Provide technical support to the construction management organization in support of subcontractors.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education:
o Required education: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and 8+ years relevant experience.
o Experience in the design of controls and instrumentation for chemical manufacturing facilities.
o Ability to perform as lead electrical engineer on modernization projects
 

Preferred Skills and Education:
o Professional Engineering License. 
o Experience with on medium and low voltage design is a plus.
