Halfaker has an opening for a DevOps Architect and Practice Lead to join our talented, dynamic team in support of the DevOps Practice Area. The key responsibilities for this position include:


  • Consult directly on billable client projects and accounts
  • Drive best practices and modern DevOps techniques on client projects across the company
  • Assist in defining DevOps-related corporate initiatives and help communicate this vision to all levels
  • Actively mentor Halfaker’s DevOps consultants
  • Collaborate with business development efforts to place Halfaker DevOps teams into challenging projects
  • Create DevOps content for internal and external consumption – presentations, white papers, workshops, blog posts, etc
  • Develop a presence in the local DevOps community

Required Skills

  • BS in computer science or related field
  • 7+ years relevant experience in engineering and systems
  • 5+ years of hands on development experience
  • Experience in a formal or informal leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience guiding organizations through a DevOps modernization effort
  • Experience building deployment pipelines, operating in cloud environments, and managing systems in a production capacity
  • Experience interacting with stakeholders and various levels and perspectives
  • Outstanding mentoring and teaching abilities
  • Preferred involvement and contribution to the DevOps community at large
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for educatio
  • 7+ years relevant experience in engineering and systems5+ years of hands on development experience
  • 5 years of relevant technical experience
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain clearances such as DoD Secret and/or Veterans Affairs Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
