Our Principal Development Engineer will be responsible for leading project activities for our Energy franchise. They will make vital contributions to the New Product Development (NPD) pipeline and transform patient care through innovation. They will lead our NPD teams and external partners to conceptualize, develop and implement robust manufacturing processes that meet or exceed all product requirements.

� Lead the project's development of the overall component supply chain and assembly process.
� Develop and deliver the project's component, equipment and process transfer roadmap.
� Act as the liaison between the Design team and the component/equipment suppliers.
� Provide \"voice of manufacturing\" to influence design and include DFM/DFA feedback while maintaining Design Intent.
� Lead activities related to supplier selection, project and product risk management and design & process transfer to manufacturing site(s) for NPD projects.
� Utilize prior work experience, Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) techniques, Lean Six Sigma process knowledge, and risk analysis tools to drive the product design to its most efficient and manufacturable outcome.
� Lead the execution of engineering builds and pilots, assembly line Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), software validation, production line transfer, IQ/OQ/PQ, and develop stabilization strategy and targets.
� Assist the Project Director with identifying required development resources and provide day-to-day direction and prioritization of development team tasks to ensure the team meets key development milestones.
� Serve as a SME by providing high level guidance to strategies involving long-term vision of manufacturing technologies, as well as provide business with technical guidance.
� Mentor and guide development engineers for their career development.
� Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science/engineering field required; advanced degreepreferred
Experience and Skills:
� Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience
� Requires development/manufacturing experience, preferably within the medical products/device industry or another highly regulated industry
� Ability to work in ambiguity, prioritize and lead work, and demonstrate ability to independently judge, define, and manage risk in development of manufacturing solutions for our energy platform
� Understands the connection between product requirements and each component's design and manufacturing process
� Effective ability to collaborate with multi-functional partners
� Experience in development of plastics, metals, or electro-mechanical components and/or customized semi/automated equipment
� Experience with Design for X (Manufacturing & Assembly; Cost) and Risk Mitigation (e.g., FMEA)
� Experience assessing production BOM COGs & required capital, project budget, and project schedule impacts of different device concepts from manufacturing aspects
� Experience with managing hardware, software and controls development in relation to manufacturing and test systems
� Six Sigma Green/Black belt certification
� People leadership or supervisory experience
� Requires up to 25% travel, domestic and international
