The Principal Architect is a key member of the In-Store leadership team. They are responsible for creating detailed technical architecture designs, based on business requirements, to meet quality and performance requirements and technical constraints for all In-Store systems.  The architect is experienced in many facets of retail hardware and software technology including POS and Loyalty applications and all in store hardware (registers, mobile devices, payment devices, beacons, traffic counting, etc.).  The architect is expected to be passionate about store technology, with an understanding of retail trends and how these can be brought together in innovative ways.  The architect plays a critical business function-facing role that interprets and translates requirements into a technical solution that is adaptive and can meet the ongoing demands of our business.

 

Ideally, this individual will reside in our Camp Hill, PA, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Wausau, WI, New York, NY or Bradenton, FL office. 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Develop evolving In-Store architecture addressing business function needs and ensuring alignment with known business function priorities and roadmaps
  • Design end to end In-Store technology solutions that meet or exceed the requirements of our business partners
  • Manage In-Store logical to physical design, between internal and external delivery partners
  • Establish and direct In-Store proof of concepts and make recommendations on technology adoption
  • Oversee the technical acceptance of requirements and ensure the integrity of any proposed solutions across the In-Store portfolio
  • Ensure alignment with our technology roadmaps and the roadmaps of others within the enterprise
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, standards and governance processes
  • Work withSecurity to ensure any solution meets the needs of our security standards and principles
  • Work closely with othertechnology team members and vendors to design and recommend the technical architecture of application software packages and infrastructure
  • Ability to collaborate with other architects and busines/technology stakeholders in the creation of technology solutions and architectural artifacts such as technical designs and roadmaps
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks when needed

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or closely related field and 5-10 years of related work experience
  • Experience working on cross functional global teams, multitasking and managing time independently with little direction
  • Expert communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with application and data architecture
  • Experienceworking withretail application and hardware is a plus
