Our core competencies and capabilities focus on immunoassay and molecular testing in the areas of: infectious disease, women’s health, and virology.    In this role the Manager of Pricing is responsible for working with various teams to support the development and implementation of pricing strategies for Quidel. Responsibilities include structuring deals to deliver on financial expectations while significantly accelerating sales cycles. Leveraging daily interactions with field, distributors and external customers - this person will develop market trends on pricing & best practices. developing KPI’s that track volumes, placements & other key measures as well as competitive intelligence on pricing . Using these KPI’s, the leader will proactively work with key intersections to enhance or create new approaches to pricing that drive efficiencies and financial improvements. Developing and maintaining strong positive working relationships is critical for this roles success.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Price Analysis & Support:

  • Responsible for compiling & modeling end-user pricing scenarios and presenting opportunities to optimize new and expiring end-user transactions that vary in size and complexity
  • Works closely with Finance & Marketing to develop pricing policy and implements processes to ensure compliance
  • Coaches direct employees & sales team on pricing proposals, provides rationale behind pricing approvals and recommended course of action
  • Creates KPI’s that measure weekly contract value, end-user pricing, assay & asset utilization, etc.

Sales Effectives & Tools:

  • Works closely with cross-functional team to streamline pricing options
  • Deliver actionable tools & reporting tosupport corporate and local sales teams
  • Provide analysis of end user customer compliance with sales contracts and determine appropriate actions with non-compliant customers
  • Analyzes current end-user pricing and recommends adjustments where needed
  • Works with various teams to enhance tools such as Salesforce, Pricing, etc

  Requirements:    EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE    Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance or equivalent experiencerequired
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in diagnostics
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role
  • Project Managementexperiencepreferred


  • Financial and contract review skills, including the ability to review terms and conditions for compliance with Quidel policies
  • Lead, motivate and supervise individuals that require different levels of support
  • Excellent communication (speaking and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Prior experience with Infor LN ERP and Sales systems strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Cognos data warehouse
  • Strong understanding of computer skills.  Must be able to quickly learn new programs and/or modifications to the existing system
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Understands data validation techniques and concepts
  • Possesses ethics and integrity with ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment
