Works as part of the Business Unit Finance team providing financial support. Primary activities include Business Partnership and Advisor, Business Financial Services, Compliance and Governance, and Education and Growth. Independently applies knowledge to complete

assignments within extremely tight and strict schedules.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently provides knowledge in Proposal Cost Estimating functional requirements for all contract sizes and types; may assist with pricing strategy, modeling and analysis to improve win percentage and profitability; may participate in proposal process for large, strategic opportunities including bid/no-bid decision and providing input to the cost and overall pricing strategy; identifies areas for improvement and cost savings; and works collaboratively across the organization to resolve issues.

Independently provides Cost Estimating functional requirements for cost analysis and estimates for new business opportunities; prepares final proposal pricing in format required by the client; conducts peer reviews of on-going proposal pricing efforts to support estimating system adherence; reviews Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitations (primarily from Govt Agencies) to interpret cost proposal requirements; leverages working knowledge of Battelle's standard estimating practices to assist in the preparation of compliant cost proposal submissions that align with RFP requirements; familiarity with Battelle overhead-rate structure, accounting practices, and financial systems.

Works independently with Finance Management to identify and mitigate business risk and supports Project and Finance Management with ensuring compliance with Government Contracting regulations and contractual terms.

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in a financially related discipline with 5 years' experience OR a master's degree in a financially related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
